What Is Lacking

WHAT IS LACKING?
"All scriptures is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 2:16-17).

We are assured that this is true, based upon what Peter wrote. "For the prophesy came not in old time by the will of man: But holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. "(2 Peter 1:21)

Paul wrote 2 Timothy 2:15 as he was approaching the end of his life. The year was approximately 65AD. He was encouraging Timothy to hold fast to the things he had learned from his mother Eunice and his grandmother Lois and later by Paul himself and the Holy Spirit. (2 Timothy 6)

What better final instructions could Paul have left with Timothy? When it comes to doctrine for the Christian today, the scriptures will make us wise and with wisdom they will lead us to salvation in Jesus Christ.

Scripture reproves us for that which is amiss and instructs us in all that is good and righteous. The man or woman of God has been adequately furnished that they may be perfect, completely furnished to do good work.

Like Timothy, we have been commissioned to take the Good News to the world and have been given that which is needed.

NOTHING IS LACKING.
